Mom and Dad will be departing for the left coast this afternoon.

They had fun. Mom got a lot of yarn. Dad got to reconnect with his roots. They both got a little wet.

we got inspired at dinner. our tribute to pat and stef.... (keep in mind, we did this with a cutting board, a baking tray, and a toaster oven.)

Artichoke heart bread pudding and a leafless tomato, onion, and chickpea salad.

Mmms.

it's muggy as all get out. i'm slowly getting used to being covered in a thin layer of my own persperation.

So, we're shopping at Hannaford (it's a grocery store), and i find a reminder of what it means to be back in California...
